We are pleased to announce that the University Centre for Rural Health (UCRH) Northern Rivers, part of the University of Sydney, has officially transitioned to Placements Plus – DVE’s sector-designed platform tailored to meet the complex needs of rural and remote placement management.

This milestone marks a significant step forward in streamlining placement operations and enhancing student support across the region. The implementation reflects a collaborative effort between the UCRH Lismore team, colleagues from Broken Hill UDRH, and the DVE Solutions team. It’s a shared commitment to improving the student experience, reducing administrative burden, and enabling real-time visibility into placement activity.

The Placements Plus platform delivers several high-impact features now in use at UCRH, including:

  • A fully centralised system to manage scheduling, accommodation, compliance, and reporting
  • Integrated communication tools that improve clarity and reduce delays
  • A mobile-friendly student portal to keep students engaged and informed from anywhere
  • Real-time dashboards to quickly identify and support students needing additional help

This upgrade also aligns with recent Australian Government recommendations to improve consistency and efficiency across rural health education sites.

UCRH’s implementation serves as a model for others considering enhancements to their own placement systems. The team has generously offered to share learnings from the rollout with peers in the sector.
